The RYOUKA series is based on floral motifs, and this sauce dish is inspired by kousa dogwood, which features diamond-shaped flowers.. The petal design complements the food as if it were a picture frame. The wavy rim cast shadows on the plate and table, creating a beautiful look.. Ideal size for use as a sauce plate. It is also versatile for serving small dishes such as cheese, nuts, condiments, etc. It can also be combined on top of a larger plate or in a Bento lunch box for a more stylish and sophisticated food presentation.. Usukiyaki is produced using a technique called “Katauchi” (molding). The sheet-shaped-clay is placed on a plaster mold, and is shaped with the fingers including each petal. This process gives the work a handmade feel that cannot be achieved through mass production, and gives it a stoneware-like appearance even though it is a porcelain piece.. RYOUKA Series.
