Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is grown in open-channel, shallow, man-made raceway ponds. Paddle wheels move the water to accelerate growth while growers continually add clean, fresh water & nutrients to the ponds to keep the spirulina thriving. When ready, the spirulina is harvested with filters, washed in fresh water, & then dried by spray drying machines. Our spirulina is non-irradiated & non-GMO. Our herbs & botanicals of the highest quality. Most are organically grown & some are wild harvested. May be used for soap making supplies, herbal extracts, tinctures, teas, salves, creams, lotions or lip balms just to name a few. All botanicals come in heat sealed resealable zip top stand up pouch. How to make a botanical oil infusion:To get healing properties, infuse your botanicals for your soaps, lotions, & other body products. 1oz – 2oz botanicals/ 16oz olive oil or any liquid(soft) oil. You can use either the quick heated method or the cold infusion method. Quick/heated method-Put oil in heavy pan & heat to about 120′, stir in crushed/rubbed botanicals & remove from heat. After it’s cooled, return the pan to the heat slowly to no greater than 120′-130′ or you will risk losing the therapeutic properties. Repeat process over a 4-8 hour period. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth while still warm. Be sure to squeeze all the oil from the botanicals. Cold infusion method-Warm oil & place in clean jar with the crushed/rubbed botanicals so that they are fully immersed in the oil. Let sit in sunny window or outside if weather permits for 30 days for best results. -crushing/rubbing the botanicals between the palms of your hands releases more of their healing properties~Enjoy in your favorite recipe!
