Blueberry Necklace featuring two small glass ripe blueberries hung together on a Sterling Silver slider. All are suspended from a 1.9mm thick sterling silver wheat chain which is 20 inches long & finished with a lobster clasp. The glass blueberry beads are each a little smaller than 1/2 inch (about 12mm) in diameter. Your jewelry will be carefully packed with biodegradable plant fiber inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a stretch bow. This can be a cherished gift for those who remember picking blueberries with loved ones as a child. Blueberries bring me back to the warm summers of my youth. Multiple Items: If you order several items from my Shop, they will be packed inside the same gift box to avoid waste. The Nature of Mother Nature Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit & leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches & speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, & add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real. Process & Materials: Each of my blueberry beads is created by melting glass in the flame of a torch directly onto the twisted end of a copper wire which becomes the stem. Because the copper stem is embedded inside the glass it can never be pulled free. The points of the flower star on the end of each blueberry have been rounded to prevent them from chipping & so they cannot snag on clothing. The surface coloring of each berry is achieved by sprinkling it with powdered glass which is then completely melted into the surface. Because no paint is used the color will never fade or rub off. These berries are made one at a time so no two are exactly alike. Sustainability: The packaging for your order has been reduced as much as possible while still preventing glass breakage. Everything I use (except for the stretch bow) is made from recycled or sustainable materials. The brown packing tape can be recycled right along with the cardboard boxes, labels, paper inserts or filler & light brown tissue paper. The organic Kapok fiber padding inside your gift box will biodegrade, but not fast enough for curbside composting, so please put that in your regular trash along with the red stretch ribbon.
