The overall length of the chain is 20 or 30 inches but you may wear it at any length you please by clipping the lobster into any large link of the chain. The free end of the chain is decorated with a matching glass leaf. The Nature of Mother Nature Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit & leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches & speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, & add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real. Process & Materials: I create each glass pomegranate seed one at a time by melting Italian glass rods in the flame of a torch, so no two seeds are ever exactly alike. I layer the beautiful raspberry-colored glass over a white core, & after shaping the seed I slow-cool it overnight in my kiln. The next day I carefully clean the bead hole & dry it before bonding in a stem made of sterling silver or 14/20 gold-filled to match the rest of your earring. I use wrapped loops to securely attach every seed so they can’t accidentally be pulled loose if they catch on your hair or clothing. Sustainability: The packaging for your order has been reduced as much as possible while still preventing glass breakage.
