Aqua Aura quartz is a trade name for quartz items that are coated via physical vapor deposition with gold oxide. The coating is very thin & tough. This creates the interference colors that you see & is very similar to how how niobium & titanium are anodized for color. The original quartz is natural, colorless & from Brazil. The colors that niobium presents are due to anodizing (unanodized niobium is a dark metallic gray).
