Wear a little piece of history & know you’ve saved vintage glass from ending up in a landfill. This a made-to-order offer. You will receive a pair very similar to the ones in the photos. Individually handmade, no two are exactly alike, but all are close. If you’re interested in different color hearts, shoot me a message! If I have your favorite color, I’m happy to create a set for you. I create these recycled glass stud earrings in my lampworking studio, one at a time. Each glass stud is melted & formed directly on non-allergenic titanium posts, then annealed in my kiln overnight for strength & durability. Ear nuts are now titanium as well. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. My beads are created in a process known as lampworking. It involves using a propane/oxygen torch that reaches extreme temperatures to melt glass. The molten glass is wound onto a stainless steel mandrel that has been coated with a liquid clay material. Shaping, as well as all the surface textures & decorations are applied while the glass is molten. Completed beads are then placed in a digitally controlled kiln, usually overnight. Kiln-annealing reduces stress in the bead for strength & durability. Each bead hole is then cleaned under water with a diamond tip Dremel bit. Thank you for looking!
