Lorene Spencer Studio Pottery Mcm Ashtray – Seattle Hand Thrown Unique Design Signed Red Clay 7.5″

A nice mid century style ashtray made by Ralph & Lorene Spencer who operated a shop & studio in Seattle Washington. They exhibited at the Bellevue Arts & Crafts Fair & other local crafts shows for many years & even had a store for awhile where they sold their wares & also sold pottery supplies to other potters. This ashtray has a unique design with an inner raised section with three slots to hold your smokes. It is glazed in a triple combination of dark brown, light brown & white glazes that overlap. The tray measures 7.5″ wide by 2″ tall in the center area. The base shows the red clay & is signed Spencer with her whimsical bird used as the S. The condition is nice & original on this Northwest studio pottery ashtray. A great piece for your studio pottery collection.
