A nice set of whimsical pottery mugs made at the Orcas Island Pottery company located on Orcas Island, Washington. The studio was operated by Trudy Erwin (1923-2013). This finely crafted set of three mugs are hand decorated & feature swimming ducks & a large whale in the water. The mugs have a dark blue coloration on the base with a light blue coloration on the top half of the mugs. The white outline decoration is done in a squeeze bag technique with glaze colors added in each figure. The underside of the two child sized small mugs have the TE Orcas mark of Trudy Erwin. The larger mug is unsigned. The two small mugs measure 2.5″ tall by 4″ wide at the handle. The larger mug is 3.25″ tall by 5″ wide at the handle. The condition is nice & original on this set of three novelty mugs. A great set for your Northwest studio pottery collection or child’s tea set.
