Glass Strawberry & Blueberry Bracelet featuring one 1/2 inch high glass strawberry bead, one slightly smaller glass blueberry bead & two handmade green glass leaves. The berries are hung right next to each other in the center of the bracelet (opposite the clasp) on an adjustable-length Figure Eight chain in your choice of metals. A leaf will be tucked into the same link as each berry. The chain is 8 inches overall, & can be worn at any length you please by clipping the lobster clasp into any large link of the chain. The free end of the bracelet is finished with a matching green glass leaf. You can select the color of your leaves when you purchase. This bracelet can be worn as-is, or you can add other charms as you like. Your jewelry will be carefully packed with biodegradable plant fiber inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a stretch bow. The Nature of Mother Nature Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit & leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches & speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, & add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real. Process & Materials: I create each of my strawberry & blueberry beads by melting glass rods in the flame of a torch directly onto the twisted end of a copper wire which becomes the stem. Because the copper stem is embedded inside the glass it can never be pulled free. After perfecting the shape of the strawberry, I place each seed individually onto the surface & round it over. To color the blueberries I melt in several layers of powdered colored glass. Last of all I place the leaflets of the calyx (or the points of the flower star) fusing each one carefully onto the surface of the strawberry to make them strong. The tips are rounded over to prevent them from snagging on clothing. I don’t use paint so the color will never fade or rub off. Because I make each of these fruit & leaves individually from glass rods, no two are exactly alike.
